Hatha is known as the foundation of all modern yoga styles. "Hatha" as translated means "ha" sun and "tha" moon. It is the path towards uniting opposites and creating harmony within the body by balancing strength and flexibility. Hatha incorporates asanas (postures), pranayama (regulated breathing), and meditation.
We will focus on gaining balance, strength and flexibility while keeping the weight out of our hands and shoulders. Therefore, limited downward dogs and no chatarungas.This class is truly perfect for any level of practitioner. Beginners shall not be intimiated, yet seasoned practitioners will find the hatha practice a refreshing way to refine some of the main elements of their ever developing yoga practice. Modifications are offered throughout the class to suit the level of your practice.
